SPACE & NASA
Since I was young, I have always been obsessed with looking up at the sky and wondering what was out there. I remember winning my telescope in a raffle when I was 13 and falling in love with the Moon from the moment I saw it through the lens. The topic of space especially dear to me because I live where the Apollo missions were assembled, so it feels like fate to me. Aside from that, I have a LOT of NASA gear, so it's safe to say that it's my dream workplace!
MUSIC
As corny as it sounds, has played a huge part in my life. It started when I was a child and would listen to 80s music in the car with my mom and progressed into listening on a daily basis whenever I can. I eventually taught myself how to play the piano, and though I do not play on any professional level, I love to close my eyes and hear the music flow. Also: concerts are an absolute surreal experience that I’m addicted to. One of my favorite me-time activities involves just driving with the windows down and blasting the music while yelling the lyrics—trust me, it works!
PHOTOGRAPHY
From lugging around my iPad to take pictures of flowers to getting my very own DSLR camera, taking pictures has been one of my more creative forms of expression. The world is so damn gorgeous, and I love sharing the ordinary things that make life beautiful. I use my phone most often to capture images, but I also have a Nikon D5600 and a Polaroid that I use to share the moment and scene. I know I have a long way to go with my photography journey, but I still love every step of the journey so far!
THRILLS
I love chasing thrills. From getting chills watching scary movies and reading up about unsolved mysteries, the horror genre has always intrigued me. Aside from that, I strangely LOVE the feeling of my stomach dropping, so I’m game for roller coasters at any point; I even went skydiving for the first time this past summer, and it was indescribable and has left me wanting more. On a slightly-less-related note to thrills, I’ve also gotten really interested in tattoos recently, and I got my first two: a resistor to commemorate my undergraduate career in electrical engineering and a Polynesian tribal band to celebrate my Fijian roots, as I love the concept of letting the things you love make a mark on you as you make your mark on the world.
LEGOS
I’m a huge Lego fanatic—more specifically, I love the NASA Lego sets. That’s pretty much it. I can’t justify it. I just love it. I have the Women of NASA, International Space Station, Apollo 11, Discovery & Hubble, Saturn V, and Central Perk sets along with a bunch of other smaller ones, and I fully intend on collecting all of the space-related ones!
TV SHOWS
Most of my personality and jokes comes from NBC sitcoms! The Office, Parks & Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, Superstore, Friends, and Community are just a handful of the many I’ve seen. I’ve also given into some Netflix shows like The Haunting of Hill House, Never Have I Ever, and Stranger Things, and I pretty much use YouTube exclusively to watch Buzzfeed Unsolved.
SOCIAL
Social media, hanging out with friends—when it comes to socializing, you name it, I probably love it. I’m an Instagram Ambassador right now, so I am able to test Instagram features and report back how the community and I feel about them, so it’s really cool to have this influence in social media. When I’m with my friends, we can do pretty much anything together and we will have a good time, but my favorites include bowling, mini golfing, roller skating, karaoke, going to comedy shows, volunteering, and playing Mario Kart on my Switch (which I’m the best at)!
